  OLYMPIAN PRODUCTS FAQs

Q. What exactly is a Catalytic heater?
A. Catalytic heaters produce heat by combining L/P gas and oxygen in a platinum impregnated pad or “catalyst.” This causes a chemical reaction (flameless combustion) resulting the release of low intensity infrared heat. The heater operates below the temperature necessary to support flame-type combustion and no heat is lost through a vent or flu. Flame type heaters actually waste up to 45% of all heat produced.
Olympian Wave Catalytic Heaters are 99.98% efficient and are available in several sizes to fit your needs. Catalytic heaters heat efficiently, don’t take up much space and are extremely safe. None of the deadly exhaust gases associated with flame heaters are produced with catalytic units. Olympian Wave Heaters are a great value, offering both safety and clean low-cost heat.

Q. I see that you have “continuous ignition” Olympian Gas Matches. What does this mean?
A. The Olympian GasMatch-3X is one of several Olympian products that have the continuous ignition feature. This simply means that the flame will not blow out, even in extreme wind. Olympian has both refillable and disposable GasMatch models.

Q. What makes the Olympian 4100 Grill better than other table top grills?

A. The world-famous 4100 Grill has been rated #1 Best Overall Barbecue Grill by none other than The Wall Street Journal. The patented smoker plate heats to a high temperature minimizing flame-ups while adding natural smoked flavor to your meats and vegetables. Cast of heavy solid aluminum with an easily stowed square design, the 4100 is a perfect addition to the RV lifestyle.

Q. What is the difference between a Stabilizing Jack and a Support/Leveling Jack?
A. An RV Stabilizing Jack is meant to do just that – stabilize your unit and stop unnecessary shifting and movement. Olympian offers two units to accommodate different height requirements – the 57361 and 57365 Stabilizing Jacks are engineered for heights between 11” to 17,” while the 57371 Telescoping Stabilizing Jack is designed for height requirements of 16" to 30". Olympian also offers a Cross Frame Stabilizing Jack (57461, 57481, 57501). A leveling jack, such as the Olympian 57401, 57421 and 57441 Scissor Jacks are designed to physically move your RV upwards as needed to level your RV. Generally one jack mounted at each corner is the optimum and these jacks can either be installed yourself or by you local RV dealer. Leveling jacks also serve to stabilize the RV. Finally, a stable and level RV is much easier to live with and your appliances work more efficiently too. A definite a must-have.
